Breaking: UK key business travelers CAN ENTER CHINA now

Xinhua&GT ijobheadhunter 2021-03-16

A Fast Track for British business travelers of key sectors to China has been created in partnership with the British government, Chinese Ambassador to Britain Liu Xiaoming has said.

"We have worked out with the British government on what we call Fast Track, Green Channel," said Liu, who joined a webinar on Wednesday alongside the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Director-General Carolyn Fairbairn and Vice President Karan Bilimoria.

Noting that there is a demand for British businesses to get their staff back to China, Liu said China has tried very hard to facilitate the flow of the personnel and to make sure that the businesses will not be affected, and try to limit the impact on the economy.

He pointed out that China has adopted "a very flexible and also in the meantime, specific measures to contain imported cases."

"With regard to the specifics, you need to have a test, you need to have what we call Green Code, which is your health certificate, to show that you have no symptom before you get on board an airplane.

And then once you're in China, you have to take the temperature and if everything shows you are healthy, then there's a shorter period of quarantine, not 14 days which is applied to most travelers," said the ambassador.

"This policy is for the business people of key sectors, such as logistics, technical business and financial services.

We have worked out a category, a list of the people who are the key workers," he said, adding that China has already notified the British side that those people can apply for a special category of visas.

"We also hope that British government will reciprocate our arrangement to Chinese businesses when they decide to come back," he added.

Liu also shared China's approach to resume the work, production and schools across the country in the webinar with an audience of more than 1,500 CBI members.

"As we do cautiously restart the economy, learning these lessons internationally is hugely valuable," said Fairbairn.

Insider: China Approves International Flights Plan

Globle Times reported Friday night: The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has approved the flight and charter plan for two foreign airlines to China in June.

An insider close to the CAAC said on Friday night that the CAAC has approved the plan Friday afternoon, without providing details of the plan.

Analysts believe that the approved two airlines are Delta and United.

Although China has previously declared that it will continue to strictly enforce "Five One" flight control, it was revealed that allowing American airlines to resume Chinese routes meant that China would be likely to relax its control.

This may be just a start. If the news is confirmed, it means that more international airlines will resume their business to and from China.

Delta said earlier this week on its website that it hopes to resume daily flights from Seattle and Detroit to Shanghai in June, which was still pending approval from the Chinese government.

United also wanted to make a strong return to China in June and will  re-launch of passenger services with four flights to three mian cities in China - Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.

More foreign airlines are anxious to see more international routes allowed into China.
